Meet at the park formed by Glen St., Elm St., and Columbus Circle, 9 am - Rain or Shine. This tour showcases one of Janesville's "pocket neighborhoods" where modest-sized period revival houses look inward toward tree-lined streets and small parks. 608-754-0677
Saturday, July 11, Owl Hike
Meet at Rockport Pool parking lot, 2801 W Rockport Road, 9:00 PM. Friends of Rockport Park will host their annual Owl Hike. Dave Bendlin, the Owl Caller, will lead a nature hike on the dark Rockport nature trails. Dave calls owls and teaches us about natural features of the park as we walk. Meet at the Rockport Pool parking lot at 9:00 p.m. Flashlights may be carried but we seldom turn them on. As our eyes adjust to the dim light we find many normally unseen features of the park such as glow worms and the many varieties of fireflies. 608-752-8342.The Owl Hike is free and open to the public.
